Something very large is surfacing next month at Patrick Miniatures.
After creating many modern warfare miniatures, special forces operators, frogmen, SEAL-style units and black ops themed terrain pieces over the years, I wanted to design a proper adversary submarine suitable for modern tabletop wargaming scenarios. Inspired by Cold War military thrillers and real Kilo-class submarines, this new project is finally becoming reality.
The upcoming release is a huge modular submarine model designed for 28mm scale / 1:56 scale tabletop gaming and display projects. The full assembled model measures approximately 110cm in length, making it one of the largest modern warfare tabletop models I have worked on so far.
The submarine will be available both as:
- STL files for home 3D printing
- Physical 3D printed kits
- Modular printable sections for easier assembly
- Large-scale modern naval terrain for wargaming tables
Designed for Modern Wargaming & Black Ops Scenarios
This 28mm submarine is designed specifically for:
- Modern warfare tabletop games
- Black Ops and covert operation campaigns
- SEAL and special forces missions
- Cold War naval scenarios
- Tactical infiltration missions
- Harbour raid objectives
- Modern military dioramas
- Cinematic tabletop terrain setups
The modular design allows the model to be printed in multiple sections, making it practical for resin and FDM 3D printers while still maintaining a massive tabletop presence once assembled.
28mm Scale Naval Terrain for Modern Tabletop Games
Modern naval terrain in 28mm scale is still relatively rare compared to tanks, APCs and urban terrain. This project was created to help fill that gap and provide a centerpiece model for modern military tabletop gaming collections.
The submarine works especially well alongside:
- Modern special forces miniatures
- Frogmen and diver units
- Harbour terrain
- Industrial docks
- Oil rig scenarios
- Modern military vehicles
- Coastal and port environments
STL Files & Physical 3D Prints
The submarine will release both as downloadable STL files and as physical 3D printed kits through Patrick Miniatures.
The STL version is optimized for hobby 3D printers and split into manageable sections for easier printing and assembly.
The printed version will be produced as a large multipart kit.
Coming Next Month
If you enjoy modern warfare tabletop gaming, black ops scenarios, Cold War-inspired terrain, or large cinematic wargaming centerpieces, this upcoming submarine release will likely be one of the most unique modern tabletop models added to the store so far.
